Welcome Center is Here to Help You

The LAVC Welcome Center is your first stop to help you find what you're looking for at Valley College! You can reach us Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.:

How to Add a Class

Pro tip: You can add classes with open seats online thorough the second day of class through the Student Portal without a permission number.

Requesting a Permission Number to Add a Class

After the second instructional day, you may request a permission number from the instructor to add the class. You can find your instructor's email address on the Campus Directory.

Officially Enrolling with a Permission Number

Once you receive a permission number, add your class in the Student Portal before the last day to add, to be officially enrolled.

Coming to Campus

Campus Map & Parking

Check the campus map to help you find your classroom buildings and the campus parking lots.

Parking permits are required for Fall 2026. You can buy your $20 Fall Parking Permit online and pick it up in-person at the Business Office . Or, you can buy daily parking permits from a parking pay station for $2 per day.

Starting September 14, 2026, all vehicles parked without a visible valid parking permit (employee permit for faculty & staff lots / student permit for student lots) may be cited.

To log into your online class through the SIS Portal or Canvas (direct):

Help with Canvas

Valley College Online is the place to help you with resources and assistance on Canvas!

To access help, log into Canvas . Click the "Help" (question mark icon) and select your main college campus. The "Canvas Support" link will take you to a page that allows you to search for questions related to Canvas and start an online chat with Canvas Support.

Pay Your Fees & Buy Textbooks

Student Fees & Financial Aid

Don't forget to pay your student fees! You can pay your registration and other fees online or in-person at the Business Office .

You can also visit Financial Aid to check on the status of your FAFSA application, any pending items to complete your aid file, and your financial aid award status.

Getting Textbooks

Stop by the Campus Bookstore to purchase your textbooks, course materials, class supplies, backpacks, Monarch gear, etc. To search and buy your required textbooks and supplies, go to Buy Textbooks .
