Rodriguez and Silvey Receive OVC Preseason Honors

Graduate guard KK Rodriguez and junior Macy Silvey have earned Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference honors and SIUE women's basketball has been picked to finish eighth in the league. The OVC released a full announcement earlier this morning. The OVC will be holding a full media day online October 17.

Last season, Silvey tied for sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference averaging 1.9 three-pointers made per game. She moved into 13thall-time at SIUE with 98 three-pointers and led the charge scoring double-figures in 14 games last season.

Rodriguez was named OVC Player of the Week three times last season. Before leaving the game at SIU Carbondale with an injury, she ranked third in the NCAA in total points, third in free throw attempts, third in free throws made, ninth in scoring average, and seventh in three-point percentage.

Each team selected two "Players to Watch". All returning 2023-24 All-Conference selections made the list.
