On December 18, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin held political consultations between the foreign ministries of China and Ukraine with Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergiy Kyslytsya in Beijing.
Liu Bin stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ukraine, friendship and cooperation have always been the defining features of bilateral relations. Upholding the principles of mutual respect and trust, mutual understanding and accommodation, and mutual benefit, both sides have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in areas such as economy and trade, agriculture, science and technology, and culture. China is ready to work with Ukraine to continue implementing the important common understandings reached by the heads of state and promote the steady and long-term development of bilateral relations.
Sergiy Kyslytsya stated that Ukraine highly values its relations with China, abides by the one-China principle, and is willing to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries, so as to promote the continuous advancement of Ukraine-China relations.
The two sides also exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis.
