Lawfare Follows Successful $24 Billion Judgement Against China for Hoarding PPE During COVID

WASHINGTON - Last night, U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) appeared on Fox News' Ingraham Angle to announce that he is the target of a $50 billion lawfare campaign by Communist China. The retaliatory lawfare follows Senator Schmitt's case against Communist China for the enormous turmoil endured by Missourians during the COVID pandemic because of China's unlawful hoarding of personal protective equipment (PPE), which resulted in a $24 billion judgement against China - the largest judgement in Missouri history and the largest ever issued against a foreign sovereign government.

Senator Schmitt on Communist China's Retaliatory Lawfare:

"We're getting [the lawsuit] translated as we speak, but we do know it's 50 billion. You know me as a troublemaker, but it's totally ridiculous. They're just mad that we exposed their lies and their deceit. Whistleblowers went missing. Flights in and out of Wuhan internally weren't canceled, but you know, the international flights still came in and out of Wuhan. We exposed all that [in Schmitt v. The People's Republic of China], and Missouri got a $24 billion judgment, and they don't like that. They unleashed COVID on the world. We sued them, and we won. This is just sour grapes. They've sued me for $50 billion but I won't be apologizing anytime soon, as you would imagine."

"I'm from the Show Me State, they're not going to be intimidating me. By the way, part of the point of the lawsuit was to expose how they manipulate supply chains - this was PPE in this example - but they could manipulate supply chains on critical minerals, pharmaceuticals. It's very important that China was held to account, and that's what this lawsuit sought to do. It's also, I think, telling how they've reacted to this by going after a sitting U.S. Senator and former officials that made the case that they lied to the world, and it cost Missouri a bunch of money and untold lives and livelihoods along the way."

Senator Schmitt Praises President Trump's Realist Foreign Policy Approach:

"What you're seeing now is a pivot away from other parts of the world into our own hemisphere. I welcome this, [a focus] on our own hemisphere and the rise of China. Speaking of China, it's time for European allies to step up in a much more meaningful way. Look for the people objecting to this, they have no problem with aircraft carriers halfway around the world, or troops somewhere else, but they somehow object blowing more narcoterrorist boats out of the water, who are poisoning 100,000 Americans every year. So, I'm glad we're putting sort of as a priority now our own hemisphere, protecting our own people. This is a realist point of view, and you're seeing a President actually carry out a very important mission here."
