The City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department is launching its new Midnight Summer Jam series, a family-friendly lineup of evening activities taking place every Friday throughout June and July-excluding July 3-from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The series is designed to bring residents together for community engagement, summer recreation, and high-energy entertainment suitable for all ages.
A centerpiece of this year's program is an expanded basketball tournament schedule featuring three age divisions:
• Middle School: Grades 6-8
• High School: Grades 9-12
• Young Adults: Ages 18 and up
Teams will consist of five players, and individuals without a team will be placed onto one to ensure everyone has a chance to participate. All games will follow an open-run style format, and jerseys will be provided for every player. To streamline planning efforts, teams are encouraged to pre-register using the Midnight Summer Jam Registration Link.
In addition to the basketball tournaments, attendees can enjoy live entertainment and a welcoming atmosphere designed to foster community connection. Organizers say participants can also expect special surprises throughout the summer. Admission to all events is free, though food trucks will be on site with items available for purchase. Security personnel will be present at each location to help ensure a safe environment.
