State Route 1-Tom Lantos (Devil's Slide) Tunnels Annual Safety Inspections

Overnight lane closures July 6 - 9 , 10 p.m. - 4 a.m.

San Mateo County ― Caltrans will conduct its annual mandatory tunnel inspections of the State Route 1 (SR-1) Tom Lantos (Devil's Slide) Tunnels beginning on Monday, July 6 at 10 p.m. In order to safety conduct these critical inspections, crews will implement lane closures and one-way traffic control each night.

Schedule

Lane closures start nightly at 10 p.m. and end the following morning at 4 a.m.

  • Monday, July 6
  • Tuesday, July 7
  • Wednesday, July 8
  • Thursday, July 9

During these closures, traffic will be directed through an open tunnel under one-way traffic control. Drivers should expect short delays.

All work is weather dependent. Please drive with caution. Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
