Chandler Golden Neighbors celebrates…

April 3, 2026

CHANDLER, Ariz. - The City of Chandler's Golden Neighbors program is hosting a free event for senior residents from 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, at Hartford Elementary School, 700 N. Hartford St.

This month's gathering will be a Dr. Seuss Read Across America Celebration where seniors will be partnered with students to share their love of reading. There will be free large print books to take home as a thank you for each senior from Chandler Public Library and Neighborhood Programs, along with birthday cupcakes in honor of Dr. Seuss.

Chandler residents planning to attend are kindly encouraged to RSVP online by Wednesday, April 8 at Golden Neighbors. Attendees also may call 480-782-4362, or email [email protected] to RSVP.

In addition, save the date for the next Golden Neighbors event as they celebrate the program's fifth birthday on Thursday, May 7. The celebration will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. at Chandler City Hall, 175 S. Arizona Ave.

The Golden Neighbors program was created as a resource to connect Chandler "golden" seniors (55 years+) with services offered by the city and local nonprofits.
