Hiroshi Abe Joins All-Star Cast in Newly Revealed Main Trailer for ‘Last Samurai Standing’

The countdown to Last Samurai Standing has begun. With just three weeks until its November 13 premiere, the main trailer has dropped, offering a thrilling new look at the epic battle royale - and revealing that acclaimed actor Hiroshi Abe has joined the cast as the formidable swordsman Gentosai Okabe.

Set in Kyoto, the story gathers 292 warriors at Tenryuji Temple, each handed a wooden tag and thrust into a brutal contest. To survive, they must steal their rivals' tags and reach Tokyo to claim a massive cash prize. As the game begins, warriors deploy every tactic imaginable: some unleash arrows from afar, others dart through the chaos with daggers, some wield massive blades with overwhelming strength, while others rely on cunning strategy. With so many ways to fight, the battle for survival moves at breakneck speed.

Lead actor Junichi Okada, who also serves as producer, envisioned a series that would enthrall viewers with its powerful, cool characters and a story that keeps audiences guessing at every turn. "We wanted to create a world where you can't help but wonder who will survive and how the game will unfold," he shares.

Among the fierce competitors, one character stands out: Gentosai Okabe, portrayed by Hiroshi Abe. Towering and enigmatic, with long white hair and an unsettling presence, Okabe is feared as a "monster" by the other participants and disrupts the game's balance even more.

The accompanying key art captures the intensity, showing the deadly contestants reflected in the blade of Shujiro's (Junichi Okada) katana. What fate awaits those who dare face him?

Last Samurai Standing premieres November 13, only on Netflix.
