City Announces Winning Names from “Name a Snowplow” Contest

The City is thrilled to share the winners of this year's "Name a Snowplow" contest! The fun and imaginative names were submitted by kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. With over 120 entries received, narrowing down the list was not an easy task. After an exciting round of community voting in December, the results are in!

Here are the winning names for the 2024/2025 Winter Season:

1. Hank the Tank (Hunter, 4th grade)
2. Dora the Destroyer (Sawyer, 5th grade)
3. Mike Waplowski (Matthew, 5th grade)
4. Dwayne "The Plow" Johnson (Townes, 5th grade)
5. Plower of Power (Ingrid, 3rd grade, and Gwen, 3rd grade)
6. Snow Demon (Ripley, 4th grade)
7. Sparkles (Hazel J., 1st grade)
8. Queen of Plows (Zienna, 4th grade)
9. Big Dog (Hazel P., Kindergarten, and Willow)
10. Snow Bull (Amelia, 4th grade)

Each winning name will be proudly displayed on our City's snowplows-keep an eye out for them during the winter season!
