A $3.8 million Neighborhood Opportunity Fund grant proposed to City Council today by Mayor Brandon Johnson would create a new economic anchor for the evolving Madison Street corridor in West Garfield Park.

TruDelta LLC's $8.3 million The K Entrepreneurship Hub at 4400 W. Madison St. is planned to include offices, advisory services, a cafe and event space within a vacant 13,100-square-foot building.

The complex is planned as an economic component of Sankofa Wellness Village, a network of multiple West Side organizations that provide community services along the Madison and Pulaski corridors.

NOF grants are funded by fees paid by downtown construction projects in support of commercial corridor investments on the South, Southwest and West sides. Grant awards exceeding $250,000 require City Council approval.
