Gov. Henry McMaster and more than 40 state agencies announce 2026 Veterans Virtual Career Fair

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Governor Henry McMaster, the South Carolina Department of Administration (Admin), and the South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs (SCDVA) today announced the 2026 Veterans Virtual Career Fair, a free online event connecting veterans and military spouses with career opportunities at more than 40 state agencies and institutions of higher education.

The career fair will take place Thursday, September 10, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Registration is required and available here.

"South Carolina's Veterans have already answered the call to serve, and state government offers them another opportunity to put their leadership, discipline, and experience to work for their fellow South Carolinians," said Gov. McMaster. "By connecting Veterans and military spouses directly with state employers, this career fair will strengthen our workforce and help ensure South Carolina remains the best place for our military community to live, work, and raise a family."

The Veterans Virtual Career Fair, the sixth statewide virtual career fair dedicated to veterans, gives job seekers the opportunity to explore careers in accounting, engineering, finance, grant management, healthcare, human resources, information technology, maintenance, security and law enforcement, and other fields.

Participants can visit virtual agency booths, share their resumes, and connect directly with recruiters and human resources representatives about current career opportunities.

South Carolina held its first Veterans Virtual Career Fair in May 2021, with more than 330 veterans participating. Since January 2026, 541, or 11%, of employees hired to work in South Carolina state government self-identified as veterans.
