Sacramento nighttime hospitality industry invited to upcoming safety events

The City of Sacramento's Office of Nighttime Economy will host two free upcoming events designed to support and educate the Sacramento nighttime hospitality industry. These events will provide valuable training and information to help businesses operate safely and effectively.

"Our focus is on promoting a safe and thriving nightlife scene in Sacramento," said Tina Lee-Vogt, the City's nighttime economy manager. "These trainings provide businesses with practical strategies to enhance safety, address challenges, and strengthen partnerships within the community."

Active Shooter Response Training
Jan. 14 from 1-3 p.m.
Location: Ace of Spades (1417 R Street)

This free training session will be led by the Sacramento Police Department and is designed to help businesses prepare for and respond to active shooter situations. Attendees will learn strategies to increase safety, improve emergency response plans, and support staff preparedness.

"Pubs, Clubs, and Bars" Training
Jan. 16 from 3-5 p.m.
Location: California State Railroad Museum (125 I Street)

This free quarterly training will cover essential business and safety practices. Topics will include updates on Entertainment Permits and Limited Entertainment Permits, along with resources to help businesses stay compliant and prepared.

Both events will provide attendees with valuable insights and practical skills to enhance the safety and management of their establishments.
