The London Stock Exchange (LSE) proudly welcomed India's climate finance delegation for the second edition of the India International Climate Finance Forum (IICFF), hosted in partnership with the Climate & Energy Transition Finance Initiative (CETFI).

To mark the occasion, CETFI closed the Markets at the London Stock Exchange - symbolising the deepening collaboration between India and the UK in unlocking global capital for climate and energy transition.

This year, CETFI led a 20+ member delegation of Indian climate mitigation and cleantech companies on a UK roadshow, with the flagship Global Investor Dialogue held at LSE. The programme featured:

  • CEO & Investor Roundtable - engaging senior leaders on innovative financial structures designed to give Indian companies improved access to global capital pools, including proposals such as listing feeder funds on international exchanges.
  • Investor Showcase - presentations by Indian companies highlighting green investment opportunities across renewable energy, clean mobility, waste, water, hydrogen, and sustainable agriculture, to an audience of London-based institutional investors and advisers.

On the sidelines, CETFI launched the prologue to its latest whitepaper, "New Approaches to Climate Finance", setting the stage for next-generation instruments and models tailored to the Global South.

Financing India's Climate Ambition

India's targets are bold:

  • 500 GW renewable energy deployment
  • 5 MMT per annum of green hydrogen production
  • 20% biofuel blending
  • Ambitious programmes in biogas, electric mobility, sustainable agriculture, forestry, waste management, air quality, river rejuvenation, and water resource management.

Meeting these goals will require capital flows of over USD 2 trillion by 2030. Achieving this scale demands not only innovative financing structures and instruments, but also long-term partnerships with the global financial community.

About CETFI

The Climate & Energy Transition Finance Initiative (CETFI) is a multi-stakeholder coalition launched during India's G20 presidency. With participation from governments, financial institutions, and industry, CETFI is dedicated to creating innovative finance structures, piloting commercial demonstration projects, and advancing investment flows into climate solutions across the Global South.
