On March 20, 2026 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Sekreta, held a briefing for the diplomatic corps accredited in Belarus. The meeting focused on Ukraine-related issues.

I.Sekreta noted that the purpose of the event was to convey to the diplomatic corps Minsk's view of the unfolding situation.

The Belarusian diplomat drew attention to the contrast between the information pressure from Kyiv and Minsk's actual contribution to de-escalation.

He specifically emphasised that it is Belarus that is providing humanitarian mechanisms: prisoner exchanges, transfer of the bodies of the deceased, repatriation of children, and reception of refugees.

At the same time, our country does not engage in nuclear rhetoric and remains open to an equal dialogue. 'We do not make excuses for what we have not done. We do what we must: we defend our sovereignty and help people,' the Deputy Minister concluded.
