Welcoming the Canadian 2026 Board of Governors

The 2026 Board of Governors for Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada was appointed on January 1, 2026. The board includes new and returning members who generously volunteer their time to help guide our mission and support the children and families we serve.

Outgoing Chairman of the Board of Governors

This year marks a transition in board leadership. Shriners Children's Canada extends sincere thanks to Ill. Sir Gary McKeown as he concludes his two-year term as chairman of the Board of Governors. His tenure coincided with a particularly special moment in the hospital's history - its centennial year - and his leadership helped guide the organization through this important milestone. Mr. McKeown has served on the Board of Governors since 2017.

Incoming Chairman of the Board of Governors

Mr. Ciro Cucciniello begins a two-year term as chairman of the Board of Governors. He has been a valued board member since 2017 and brings experience, continuity and a strong understanding of the organization to this role.

Mr. Cucciniello has been a lawyer since 1986 and is a partner at the law firm Cucciniello Calandriello Di Cristofano s.e.n.c.r.l./LLP. He earned a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Bachelor of Common Law from McGill University. In 2018, he received the Institute of Corporate Directors designation from McGill University, and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Governor General of Canada in 2012.
