We're excited to announce that Kati Perry is joining the Graphics desk as a graphics/multimedia editor focused on polling, elections and politics. She will be based in Washington, D.C., and will jump into our polling effort as we build it out this year, helping shape how we present and explain complex poll data in clear, reader-friendly ways.
Prior to The Times, Kati was at The Washington Post, where she worked on election results , voter analysis and other web-based interactive stories and experiences . She brings a strong mix of elections expertise and web development skills, with a track record of building clear, reliable and insightful graphics for readers. Previously, Kati worked at The Associated Press as a data visualization reporter and developer, contributing to national election coverage and building tools for the newsroom.
Kati has a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master's degree from the University of Oregon. She completed a Fulbright grant in Spain in 2017.
Kati will start the week of June 8. Please join us in welcoming her to the team.
