GREENSBORO, NC (June 22, 2026) - Starting today, Greensboro Police begins its newest traffic safety campaign called 'Warmer Days. Safer Roadways.'
This campaign is being conducted by the Greensboro Police Traffic Safety Unit, with its goal to reduce vehicle crashes, injuries, and deaths that occur in Greensboro.
This year, the City of Greensboro has experienced a 41% increase in traffic fatalities, totaling 25 traffic-related deaths, including seven pedestrians.
Members of the Motor Unit (motorcycle), Traffic Safety Unit, and Patrol Division will concentrate on the leading causes of traffic crashes, including speeding, distracted driving, and safe movement violations through increased enforcement, public education, and community partnerships.
"As we enter the busy summer months, we want everyone traveling on Greensboro's streets to make safety their top priority. Warmer weather brings more people outdoors-walking, biking, running, and enjoying community events-which means drivers must be especially alert and attentive behind the wheel. Together, we can reduce crashes, prevent tragedies, and ensure that everyone arrives at their destination safely," said Assistant Chief Stephanie Mardis.
