UNG Remembers Day is set for April 29

The University of North Georgia (UNG) will host UNG Remembers Day events April 29 at UNG's Dahlonega and Oconee campuses in honor of students and staff members who passed away during the 2025-26 academic year.

In Oconee, the event will be at 9 a.m. in Room 522, with the Dahlonega event set for 5 p.m. at the Memorial Wall.

Those being remembered at the Oconee Campus event are:

  • Gregory Scot Boulus Jr., who was pursuing an Associate of Arts on the business administration pathway.
  • Morgan Grace Daniel, a junior who was pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology and previously earned an Associate of Science.
  • Ann Valverde, a tutor on the Oconee and Gainesville campuses.
  • Harry Childers, a tutor on the Gainesville Campus.

Those being remembered at the Dahlonega Campus event are:

  • Thomas Anthony Habeeb IV, a freshman who was pursuing a degree in finance. The family worked with the UNG Foundation to establish the Thomas Habeeb IV Memorial Endowment supporting wellness and health promotion programs.
  • Kristina Elizabeth Kirilov, a junior who was pursuing a degree in East Asian studies. She was a member of the Korean Club and Omicron Delta Kappa, a leadership honor society.
  • Tiffanie M. Martin, a senior who was pursuing a degree in human services delivery and administration. Martin also worked in Public Safety as a Central Dispatch officer.
  • Marlon Melson Jr., a sophomore who was pursuing a degree in accounting.
  • Joy Pruitt, a counselor in the Student Counseling office on the Dahlonega Campus.
  • Melvin Brown, technical support services coordinator for the Cumming Campus.
