Power restored at DSCC

COLUMBUS, Ohio -

Power has been restored at Defense Supply Center Columbus. At about 9:40 a.m., the entire installation experienced a total interruption of electrical service as part of a Full-Scale Energy Resilience Readiness Exercise to test the installation's emergency backup generators and provide tenants with real-time practice of personnel accountability and Continuity of Operation Plans. Power was restored at 5:44 p.m.

This 'Black Start' exercise is part of a congressional mandate requiring Department of Defense services to test their ability to operate without power in an emergency.

All personnel may return to work on their normal duty day.
