Posted: March 3, 2025 The California State Parks' Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division administers a grant program which has provided significant funding to help the Sierra County Sheriff's Office manage off-highway vehicle recreation in Sierra County. The Sierra County Sheriff's Office has completed the 2025 -2026 Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation grant request. The Sierra County Sheriff's Office current grant request provides for operation and support of public safety and law enforcement efforts for numerous trails and roads located on public lands open to OHV use.
The public review and comment period for the 2025-2026 Grant and Cooperative Agreement Program will run from Tuesday, March 7, through Monday, May 1, 2025. The public is invited to review the Sierra County Sheriff's Offices' application at the website http://ohv.parks.ca.gov. Copies of the grant request are also available to the public at the Sierra County Sheriff's Office, Downieville, CA. After viewing our grant application, if you would like to make a public comment, you may do so by emailing lvanetti@sierracounty.ca.gov and copying the OHMVR Division at OHVinfo@parks.ca.gov.
