Global: United States and more than twenty governments launch a 6G Leadership and Security Call to Action

The United States and over twenty partner governments, including many European countries, pledged to cooperate on secure, open and interoperable 6G networks.

Global, 27 July 2026 - The United States' National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) launched a global Call to Action for 6G Leadership and Security, endorsed by more than 20 governments. Signatories include Albania, Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Romania, South Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States, among others.

Through the initiative, participating governments committed to promoting an open, interoperable, secure, resilient and artificial-intelligence-supported approach to sixth-generation (6G) networks, while strengthening international cooperation on 6G over the next 12 months and beyond. The Call to Action emphasises security, interoperability and resilience in next-generation networks and recognises the central role of trusted artificial intelligence (AI) in their development and operation.
