Defendant Sentenced for Shooting Death

CASE: Kenneth Howe (Case #22FE009063)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Cody Winchester, Homicide Unit

The Honorable Kenneth Brody sentenced Kenneth Howe to 75 years to life in prison. On July 31, 2025, a jury convicted Howe of first-degree murder. The jury also found true the allegation that Howe discharged of a firearm causing death. The court further found that Howe has a prior strike conviction for child molest.

On June 2, 2022, Howe was upset that his girlfriend had started dating the victim, Amadon Estrada. When Howe went to the victim's camp, he found his girlfriend was there with him. Howe then walked back to his camp, retrieved a gun, put on gloves and a bulletproof vest before going back to the victim's tent and shooting him.
