LINZ has recently received reports of issues experienced by e-Dealing customers following the use of autofill when preparing an instrument, leading to incorrect details being added.
To ensure you are entering the correct information into Landonline, we recommend you avoid using autofill in Landonline fields. To be extra safe, you could disable the auto-fill functionality in your web browser.
With Landonline being browser-based, this is a setting that only you can change in your browser. The Landonline team are unable to change any individual browser settings.
Stop your browser autofilling fields in Landonline
Entering information manually is the best way to ensure that you are inputting the correct information.
Please always double-check the information you have entered prior to finalising and signing an instrument.
We have just released the final 'Account management' functions to new Landonline. This replaces the System Maintenance functions carried out by System Managers.
Via 'Account Management' in the top right menu System Managers can now update:
Learn more: Update your firm's details or a user's privileges
Additionally, via the 'My Profile' menu all user can:
Learn more: Change your details
We're making important improvements to how PDF files are handled in Landonline to boost security and ensure long-term accessibility. We are expecting to make these changes in October.
To protect against risks associated with embedded content:
All uploaded files will be converted to PDF/A format, a standard designed for long-term preservation and reliable access.
For most users, the upload experience will remain seamless. However, very large files may take slightly longer to process due to the additional scanning and conversion steps.
In August the Registrar-General of Land consulted on the proposed new Statutory and Evidentiary Requirements for E-Dealing Standard. No submissions were received during this public consultation phase, however earlier targeted consultation with key stakeholders indicated support for the proposed changes. The new Standard modifies and updates these requirements and removes supplementary guidance from the evidentiary requirements as this is best dealt with in the regulatory guideline or web commentary.
The RGL will now set the Statutory and Evidentiary Requirements for E-Dealing Standard 2025 - LINZ S 01317 (the Standard). The Standard will come into force on Monday 20 October 2025 at which time the Standard will be published on the LINZ website. On that date the prior version of this standard, Certification of Electronic Instruments (Statutory Requirements and Retention of Evidence) Standard 2018 - LINZ S 20012, will be revoked.
We're thrilled to announce the successful transition to New Landonline, following the closure of Legacy Landonline for Surveyors on September 30th.
This milestone marks a significant step forward in modernising our systems and enhancing the experience for all users. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the evolution to New Landonline.
A key driver behind this smooth transition has been the invaluable feedback from our surveying community and in particular our Survey working group. Your insights have helped shape our priorities and guide the development of New Landonline to better meet real-world needs.
Over the next 15 months, our focus will shift to:
The only application changes we'll be making are essential updates to keep Survey Capture and Plan Generation secure, reliable and functioning well. No new enhancements will be introduced during this time.
