EUMAM MOZ receives visit of Swedish Delegation

Maputo, Mozambique - The European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) received, this morning, the visit from a Swedish Delegation at the mission headquarters.

Present in this delegation were the Swedish Defence Attaché to South Africa, Colonel Patrik Aronsson, Liutenant Colonel Mikael Carleson and Major Tor Bengtsson, from the Swedish Armed Forces and also Daniel Busk, from the Swedish embassy. They were welcomed by the Mission Force Commander, Brigadier-General Luís Barroso, the Chief of Staff, Colonel Lorenzo Del Signore, and the Chief of Advisors, Navy Captain Pais Neto.

During the visit, the delegation was given a briefing on EUMAM MOZ´s context and objectives, presented by the Mission Force Commander.

The visit reinforced the partnership, common values, goals and objectifs between the Sweden, member of the European Union, and the European Union mission in Mozambique.

EUMA MOZ is a non executive mission, with a mandate until June 2026, focusing on the operational training cycle and maintenance of Quick Reaction Forces, of the Mozambican Armed Defence Forces (FADM), that were trained by European Union Training Mission (2021 to 2024), while also providing specialised training. The mission has more than 80 military personnel from 11 nationalities.
