On 2 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys visited town of Alytus where he met with city leaders and visited Traidenis and Metsolar companies.
The meeting focused on challenges faced by local companies, issues of the investment environment, and opportunities for further expanding export volumes and diversifying geography.
"Active regional businesses that adapt to global market changes are vital pillars of Lithuania's economic sustainability and competitiveness," said Minister Budrys.
According to Budrys, in the context of geopolitical and economic change, it is critical to ensure that Lithuanian companies have access to information, diplomatic channels, and networks of international partners that would help them to successfully establish themselves in foreign markets.
"Strengthening regional business is an integral component of the country's economic diplomacy," said the minister.
During the meetings, the Minister emphasized the importance of consistent and constructive cooperation between the Foreign Ministry and business. According to Budrys, close dialogue is essential for identifying business needs more quickly, addressing international trade challenges more promptly while seeking to promote coordinated export development and foreign investment attraction.
