CLAY COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation Kansas City (MoDOT KC) will hold a public meeting to discuss the Northbound Interstate 29 Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation over U.S. Route 169. The meeting will be held on Monday, September 29 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Briarcliff Church located at 800 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64118.
While safe to travel on, the existing bridges have reached the end of their service lives and need to be replaced/rehabilitated. Construction is scheduled to begin in Jan. 2026 and will require a three-month closure of NB I-29 over U.S. 169 and the ramps from U.S. 69 to NB I-29. The bridges will be open to traffic by June 1, 2026, ahead of the World Cup.
The meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation will provide attendees the opportunity for attendees to ask questions, learn more about the project, and leave a comment.
Following the public meeting, there will be an opportunity to view project displays and exhibits and leave comments on the project webpage beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday, September 29 until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13.
