Osteoporosis remains a significant public health concern across aging populations. Fragility fractures can affect mobility, independence, and quality of life while also placing increasing pressure on healthcare systems.
A recent Frost & Sullivan Jube 2026 modelling analysis report explored the potential economic contribution of calcium, vitamin D3, and vitamin K2 within Europe's bone health landscape. The report estimated that tens of millions of adults aged 50 and older across the EU27 and UK are living with diagnosed osteoporosis, while millions of fragility fractures occur annually.
Despite the burden of osteoporosis, a substantial proportion of diagnosed individuals receive no pharmacological intervention aimed at reducing fracture risk. This highlights an important care gap and reinforces the value of raising awareness around prevention, nutritional adequacy, screening, and appropriate treatment pathways.
