Media Advisory: Fourth of July Fireworks Press Conference

The City of San José is excited to join residents in celebrating the Fourth of July and encourages everyone to do so responsibly.

District 8 Councilmember Domingo Candelas' office is hosting a free event at Lake Cunningham Park on July 4 to celebrate America's 250th birthday. The festival begins at 6 p.m. and will feature food, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities leading up to a drone show at 9 p.m. For more information, including road closures and public transportation options, visit bit.ly/D8DroneShow26.

The San Jose Giants will also host postgame fireworks on July 3 and July 4 at Excite Ballpark. A game ticket is required for entry both nights.

City officials are coming together to promote these professional events and to raise awareness about the serious dangers of illegal fireworks. In addition to the scheduled speakers, representatives from Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Services, Information Technology (San José 311), Animal Care & Services, and other City departments will be present to share important safety information.

The City urges everyone to leave fireworks to the professionals. Illegal fireworks cause permanent injuries, spark devastating fires, and lead to more lost pets on July 4 than any other day of the year.
