DEATH VALLEY, Calif. - Public tours of Scotty's Castle grounds will be available on select Sundays from January through March 2026. Scotty's Castle, a historic district in Death Valley National Park, has been closed for 10 years while the National Park Service repairs extensive damage caused by a flash flood and a later fire.

Death Valley Natural History Association and NPS are partnering to offer Scotty's Castle Flood Recovery Tours while the site is closed for repairs. A park ranger will lead visitors on a guided walk around the grounds of the historic district and share the colorful history behind the notorious mining scam that inspired a castle in the desert, along with updates on flooding, recovery work, and long-term restoration.

Tours will be offered on select Sundays from Jan. 4 through March 29. Tickets are $35 per person, plus a processing fee. Ticket proceeds support conservation work at Scotty's Castle. For tour dates, details and ticket sales, visit DVNHA.org. Tickets must be purchased at least 48 hours in advance.
