Frisco Police Officers Involved in Shooting
FRISCO, TX - Frisco Police Officers were involved in a shooting with an armed individual.
On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., Frisco Police Officers responded to a welfare concern in the 8000 block of McKinney Road. The reporting party advised that a subject was armed with a knife and had already harmed himself.
Shortly after the initial call, responding officers located the subject, identified as 31-year-old Logan Holliday of Frisco, in a wooded area on the north side of Frisco Commons Park. Upon making contact with him, Holliday advanced towards the officers with the knife in his hand. Despite giving Holliday verbal commands and using a less lethal force option, he continued advancing. Fearing for their lives, the officers were forced to fire their duty weapons to stop him.
Lifesaving measures were immediately administered by officers on scene, and Holliday was transported by Frisco Fire Medics to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
In accordance with the Frisco Police Department's Policy regarding critical incidents, the Texas Rangers were asked to investigate. As the Rangers are leading the ongoing investigation, the Frisco Police Department is unable to provide any further updates at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Frisco Police Department's non-emergency number (972-292-6010) or submit a tip using Tip411 (text FRISCOPD + the tip to 847411).
