The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District has confirmed that mosquitoes collected in the City of Newport Beach have tested positive for West Nile virus. These are the first samples to test positive in the county this year.
Residents can take precautions by wearing mosquito repellent when mosquitoes are most active (at dawn and dusk).
