Specialized Investigations Division detectives Monday arrested two teens for the December 24 shooting of a man who intervened in an altercation between the suspects and three others.
According to witnesses, a 14-year-old male fired shots at the 28-year-old victim, striking him in the chest. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center for treatment. Antonio Cartwright Jr., 18, was also present at the time of the shooting. Afterwards, he and the 14-year-old are accused of forcing a 16-year-old male into an SUV at gunpoint. The 16-year-old was eventually released, unharmed.
Cartwright is charged with conspiracy to commit homicide, aggravated kidnapping, and gun possession during the commission of a dangerous felony.
The 14-year-old is charged in Juvenile Court with attempted homicide, aggravated kidnapping, and juvenile handgun possession, gun possession during the commission of a dangerous felony, and theft.
