Robbery: On 08/17/2025 at 6:18 PM, a strong-armed robbery occurred at 231 Jackson St. Two subjects entered the grocery store, concealed merchandise, and exited the store without paying. Security contacted the subjects and a fight ensued. Both subjects battered the security guard causing visible injuries. The security guard was able to retrieve the stolen goods, however, both subjects fled the scene. HPD officers reviewed surveillance footage and were able to identify and arrest both subjects. Home Invasion Robbery: On 08/18/2025 at 8:14 PM, a home invasion robbery occurred on the 24000 block of Magna Ave. A male (in his 20s-30s) jumped over the backyard fence, approach the victim and asked for food. The subject then pulled out a knife, grabbed the victim, and forced him into the home where he stole cash and credit cards. The subject fled the residence towards Jackson Street. HPD searched the area but was unable to locate the subject. Video was obtained; however, the subject wore gloves and a mask to conceal his identity. Report # 2025-47524
Burglary and Vandalism: On 08/20/2025 at 1:47 AM, a burglary and vandalism occurred near the Hayward Police North Resource Center at 22701 Main St. The victim, who lives in a tent near the NRC, reported a known subject cut open her tent and stole a jacket. Officers located the subject a few blocks away in the City Parking Garage wearing the victim's jacket. Report # 2025-47805
