The Berkeley College Foundation honored nine high-achieving students during its annual Scholarship Awards Reception on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Berkeley College in Woodland Park, NJ. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded approximately $241,000 in scholarships to 67 Berkeley College students.

This year's recipients are Soledad Bello, Dylan Dascoli, Connor Gaffney, Edisa Gordon, Kisbel Peralta, Destiny Rodriguez Jimenez, Leybis Rosales, Samantha Sankar, and Qudus Sodiq.

"Berkeley College Foundation is proud to award scholarships to students who demonstrate excellence both inside and outside of the classroom. We believe that by investing in their dreams and education, we are investing in their futures. The Foundation stands by Berkeley's promise of empowering students to fulfill their greatest potential in order to achieve lifelong success," said John Phillips, Chairman, Berkeley College Foundation.

During the program, Ellen Zitis, Executive Director, Berkeley College Foundation, thanked attendees, including guests of the recipients and sponsors for supporting the scholarship students on their educational journeys. She stated, "You worked hard, you impressed us with your GPAs, personal statements, perseverance, and commitment to your education." Zitis read inspiring excerpts from each honoree's application essay.

Diane Recinos, EdD, President of Berkeley College, echoed similar sentiments when she stated, "We are grateful to be able to provide additional resources to students through the Berkeley College Foundation, which helps them to reach their full academic potential." She noted how the Berkeley College Foundation is proud to see "the best in our scholarship recipients" and is excited to watch them "pay it forward in the future."

Event sponsors included CohnReznick, Ai Media Group, Eastern Funding, Provident Bank, McCarter & English, Clear Channel Outdoor, Spencer Savings Bank, Valley Bank, and Wilmington Trust/M&T Bank.
