CoreCivic Appoints New Leadership Team at Trousdale Turner Correctional Center

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - September 6, 2025 - CoreCivic has appointed a new, highly experienced leadership team at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Center (TTCC) in Hartsville, Tenn., a move that marks a significant step forward in the company's ongoing efforts to stabilize the facility's workforce, strengthen operations and enhance the quality of services provided to inmates.

Newly appointed Senior Warden Allen Beard, Jr. brings over 30 years of correctional leadership experience to TTCC, including previous roles with the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC), the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. In addition to his correctional leadership, Warden Beard is a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He served two deployments to Iraq and Africa and retired as a First Sergeant. He is also a graduate of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Special Agent Academy.

Joining the warden are two newly named assistant wardens, Paul Gagliardi and Patti Landon, who together bring a combined 50 years of experience in correctional management. Guy Bosch, who most recently served as TTCC warden, is taking on a leadership position at CoreCivic headquarters. "We're confident that this seasoned leadership team will bring the stability, accountability and operational excellence expected by our partners and the community," said CoreCivic CEO Damon Hininger.

"Their experience will be instrumental in creating a better environment for both staff and inmates while improving outcomes that reduce recidivism." "I'm honored to join the team at TTCC," said Warden Beard. "In my previous role as director of the Security Threats and Intelligence Unit for TDOC, my work centered on ensuring safety, and that remains my top priority here. At the same time, I'm committed to developing the next generation of correctional professionals and expanding access to programs that help the individuals in our care prepare for successful reentry."

The leadership transition is part of a series of strategic steps CoreCivic is undertaking to improve staffing and operations at TTCC, including:

Opening of New Candidate Processing Center: On August 27, 2025, CoreCivic opened a Candidate Processing Center in Hartsville to streamline hiring and accommodate greater volumes of applicants. Weekly in-person hiring events are also being held across the region.

Positive Impact of Increased Pay:Since increasing the starting pay for correctional officers to $24.62/hour on July 1, 2025, TTCC has seen a significant uptick in hiring. More than 800 applications for correctional staff and nearly 1,000 applications across all positions have been received. The officer vacancy rate improved significantly in July, with 55 new officers hired in that month alone.

Visitation Area Enhancements:Plans are underway to significantly enhance the facility's visitation area as part of a broader initiative to implement "normalization" practices that improve inmate quality of life and promote successful reentry.

Expanded Attorney-Client Meeting Space:Two private offices in the visitation area have been converted into attorney-client visitation rooms to accommodate more legal consultations on-site.

Increased Community Engagement: CoreCivic leadership is engaging with local elected officials and civic organizations to strengthen community ties and foster greater transparency.

CoreCivic continues to work closely with TDOC Commissioner Frank Strada and his team to ensure that improvements at TTCC align with departmental standards and expectations. "We're grateful for the support and partnership from Commissioner Strada and the TDOC staff as we work together to deliver meaningful, sustainable progress at TTCC," said Hininger.
