(JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo.) - On July 7, Jefferson County launched a new platform - NextRequest - for submitting open records requests. This centralized online portal allows users to submit and track requests, access records and receive updates, all while reducing reliance on paper and email. The platform also automates workflows, routes requests efficiently and ensures compliance through comprehensive communication tracking.
For those community members with accessibility needs, staff will be available to assist with submitting requests, and written requests will still be accepted via mail.
"We've seen a significant increase in open records requests in recent years," said Public Affairs Director Cassie Pearce. "NextRequest will help streamline our internal process and improve turnaround times."
In 2024, Jefferson County Administration received more than 640 records requests - up from 440 in 2023. (These figures do not include CORA requests submitted to the Clerk & Recorder or the Jefferson County Public Library.)
