Police seek public's assistance identifying suspect involved in assault on ETS driver

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is seeking the public's assistance identifying a suspect who assaulted an Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) bus driver and damaged a property yesterday.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at approximately 7:40 a.m., it was reported to police that a male suspect assaulted an ETS driver in the area of 117 Street and Jasper Avenue before fleeing on foot. No injuries to transit riders were reported and the bus driver was treated and transported to hospital by EMS for further evaluation.

Upon further investigation, officers determined that the same male suspect was also responsible for damaging a library in the area of 102 Avenue and 99 Street that day at around 6:10 a.m.

The suspect is described as a 38-45-year-old white male with short brown hair and a muscular build who is approximately 6'0". He was last seen wearing glasses, a blue sweater, grey sweatpants, rubber boots and was carrying a green shopping bag, as pictured below.
