CCAS Professor Wrote New Book

Jessica McCaughey, an associate professor of writing at the George Washington University, published "Communicating Across Careers: Writing Transfer and the Experiences that Shape a Professional Life." The book examines how professionals develop and adapt their writing skills as they move across industries and experiences.

The book draws on narrative-based interviews with 45 professionals from a range of backgrounds and different generations. McCaughey's research focuses on the transfer of writing skills in professional settings.

McCaughey developed and directed GW's Workplace Writing Program for more than a decade, working with organizations including Amnesty International, the Department of Labor, the FDA and the Department of Homeland Security. She teaches academic and professional writing courses at GW.
