On April 2, 2026 the work of the members of the Belarusian delegation under the leadership of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov continued in the Sultanate of Oman.
M.Ryzhenkov was received by the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said.
The parties emphasized the high level of political dialogue between Belarus and Oman, which is based on the special friendly relations established between the leaders of the two countries.
The interlocutors highly appreciated the results of the first meeting of the Belarusian-Omani Joint Committee on Cooperation and Investment, as well as the bilateral meetings held between representatives of industries and business communities.
The first practical steps towards the mutual opening of embassies in Minsk and Muscat, which are intended to promote the development, primarily, of trade and economic relations, the expansion of existing and the establishment of new official and interpersonal contacts, were noted with satisfaction.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in continuing regular dialogue at the highest and high levels, as well as their readiness to participate in events held in Belarus and Oman.
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held between M.Ryzhenkov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.
The interlocutors emphasized the effective interaction between the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries, discussed the schedule of joint events for the near future, including the holding of inter-ministerial consultations in Minsk this year.
B.Albusaidi noted the importance of the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Oman, despite the current situation in the region.
The Foreign Ministers confirmed the convergence of positions and mutual support on key issues within the framework of cooperation at international platforms.
The importance of developing economic ties, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, which serve as a basis for strengthening and developing the entire spectrum of Belarusian-Omani relations, was emphasized.
The Omani side showed interest in organizing inter-university student exchanges, especially in the field of medicine. The fields of science, technology, and healthcare were also named as promising areas for deepening interaction.
M.Ryzhenkov invited his Omani colleague to visit Minsk on an official visit.
At the meeting of the Belarusian delegation with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources of Oman Saud bin Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Habsi, it was noted that the economies of the two countries are complementary - this will allow for a manifold increase in trade turnover between them in the near future.
Mutual interest was shown in food supplies: to Oman - dairy and meat products, cheeses and butter; to Belarus - fish, seafood, dates and fruits. One of the main areas of practical cooperation is the work currently being carried out to create joint ventures on the territory of the Sultanate, including for the production of baby food and milk powder.
The use of Oman's advantageous geopolitical position in the region will ensure the supply of Belarusian products not only to Oman, but also to the markets of other countries in the Persian Gulf and East Africa.
During the meeting, members of the Belarusian delegation, deputy ministers of agriculture and food, and industry, presented to the Omani side the capabilities of domestic agricultural and self-propelled machinery adapted to the working conditions in Oman, and also invited Omani partners to take part in the "Belagro-2026" exhibition in June of this year.
A meeting was also held between the Belarusian delegation led by M.Ryzhenkov and the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri.
Along with the organization of direct trade in goods, the Omani side showed interest in creating joint industrial enterprises on the territory of the two countries. In particular, interest was shown in Belarusian road and special machinery, trucks, and firefighting equipment.
The parties outlined further steps to expand the range of Belarusian products for supply to the Omani market and to third countries.
Within the framework of the Belarusian delegation's work in Oman, a Belarusian-Omani business forum was held under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov and the President of the Oman Investment Authority Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi.
More than 200 Omani companies representing banking, food, industrial, investment, pharmaceutical, and IT spheres took part in the forum. In addition to the presentation of the Belarusian export potential, direct contacts of business representatives in the B2B format, as well as separate full-scale meetings of business circles, took place on the sidelines of the event.
