INDIO, CA (June 23, 2026) - The City of Indio is proud to announce the successful completion of its first internal "Suit Up For Success" donation drive in partnership with the Career Center at California State University, San Bernardino's Palm Desert Campus (CSUSB-PDC). The initiative reflects the City's ongoing commitment to supporting education, workforce development, and student success throughout the Coachella Valley.
Led by the City's Human Resources Department, City employees particpated in the donation drive collecting more than 200 professional clothing and accessory items, including over 110 interview-ready apparel, more than 50 ties, multiple pairs of professional shoes, and brand-new socks. These contributions will directly benefit local college students as they prepare to enter the workforce, helping ensure they have access to the professional attire needed for interviews, internships, networking opportunities, career fairs, and other career development events.
The donations will support the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus Career Center's efforts to equip students with the tools and resources needed for career success. In addition to providing career planning and professional development opportunities, the Career Center connects students with employers and offers workforce readiness programs designed to help them confidently transition from the classroom to the workplace.
The "Suit Up For Success" donation drive reflects the City of Indio's commitment to supporting workforce development and educational success through meaningful community partnerships. By helping students access professional attire and career readiness resources, the initiative contributes to building a stronger workforce for the Coachella Valley. Following the success of this year's drive, the City looks forward to establishing "Suit Up For Success" as an annual partnership with CSUSB Palm Desert Campus.
The City of Indio remains committed to fostering partnerships that create opportunities for residents, students, and future leaders throughout the region.
