Budapest, 9 May 2026 - The Magyar Nemzeti Bank is issuing a silver collector coin with a face value of 25,000 forints and a non-ferrous metal version with a face value of 5,000 forints today in honor of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian Football Federation.
The Hungarian Football Federation was founded in Budapest in 1901, at the initiative of representatives of the domestic associations. The Federation plays an important role in the development of Hungarian football, supporting the education of young players, the organization of domestic championships and the successful operation of the national team.
On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian Football Federation, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank is issuing a silver collector coin with a face value of 25,000 forints and a non-ferrous metal version with a face value of 5,000 forints. The collector coins were designed by applied artist Andrea Horváth.
The primary role of the collector coins is to raise awareness and promote our national values, and their use in everyday payments is to be avoided. The denomination is intended to preserve the value the coin holds as a collector's item.
Further details about the coins can be found on the MNB's website.
