"Finishing in the top 20 of the Learfield Directors' Cup is a tremendous accomplishment for our student-athletes, coaches, and entire athletics staff," Vice President of Athletics Rob Miller said. "It reflects the hard work and heart our teams bring to competition year-round. We are proud that our programs continue to represent the University of Saint Mary on the national stage."
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NAIA Championships. Overall, 13 sports are counted in the final NAIA standings, four of which must be men's basketball, men's soccer, women's basketball, and women's volleyball. The next highest (9 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
