Mr. Attaf takes part in UN General Assembly High-level week

Tasked by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, has arrived in New York to take part in the high-level week of the 79th United Nations General Assembly.

Attaf will participate, as a representative of the President of the Republic, in the Summit of the Future, scheduled for September 22 and 23, as well as in the general debate of the General Assembly, from 24th to 30th September themed "Acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations,".

Algeria being a member UN Security Council, the minister will also participate in several high-level meetings that will be organized in this regard alongside the works of the General Assembly, notably the debate session scheduled at the request of the Algerian delegation on the Palestinian cause and the meeting called for by the Slovenian presidency of the Security Council on activating the role of multilateralism in promoting international peace and security.

On the sidelines of the high-level week of the General Assembly, Attaf will also participate in meetings scheduled as part of the geopolitical groups in which our country is a member, such as the Arab League, the African Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and the G77+China.

The minister will also take part in various bilateral meetings with his counterparts from brotherly, friendly and partner countries.
