Moran Leads Committee Hearing on Nominee for VA Under Secretary for Benefits Thursday, September 11, 2025 WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) - chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs - led the committee in considering the nomination of Karen Brazell to be Under Secretary for Benefits at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). "The timely delivery of benefits is crucial to supporting veterans and their loved ones after their service," said Sen. Moran. "The Veterans Benefits Administration is charged with administering disability and pension benefits, education benefits, home loan benefits, military to civilian transition support services, survivors benefits and other resources to veterans after they have taken off the uniform." "The responsibility of VA's Under Secretary for Benefits is to make certain veterans and their families receive quality benefits in a timely manner," continued Sen. Moran.
