On April 1, 2026 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Pavel Utyupin, met with the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Statutory and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Minsk, Alexander Lukashevich.
The parties discussed the preparations for upcoming CIS events, including the meetings of the Council of Foreign Ministers in April and the CIS Council of Heads of Government in May. During the meeting, particular attention was paid to the activities of the integration association, and both sides reaffirmed their interest in continuing active joint efforts to deepen cooperation between Belarus and Russia within the CIS framework, including in the context of the organization's 35th anniversary.
The interlocutors outlined key areas of cooperation aimed at increasing the efficiency of the Commonwealth and further strengthening its international standing.
