Atlanta, Ga. - U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is expanding opportunities for Georgians with disabilities.
Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver funding to Synergies Work, Inc., a nonprofit based in Atlanta that helps entrepreneurs with disabilities start and grow their own businesses.
With the funding, Synergies Work, Inc. will expand its entrepreneurship programs across Georgia, including small business training, mentorship, and access to resources that support business development and long-term sustainability. This work will help equip more Georgians with disabilities with the skills and support needed to launch and grow small businesses.
Sen. Ossoff is delivering $475,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on February 3.
"Bringing Republicans and Democrats together, I'm delivering these resources to help improve the lives of Georgians with disabilities and give Georgians the opportunity to succeed," Sen. Ossoff said.
"This is a defining moment for disability entrepreneurship in Georgia. For too long, people with disabilities have been excluded from economic opportunity and access to the tools needed to build sustainable businesses," said Aarti Sahgal, Founder and CEO of Synergies Work. "We are deeply grateful to Senator Ossoff for recognizing that disabled entrepreneurs belong at the center of Georgia's economic future. This investment will expand access to entrepreneurship as a viable pathway for Georgians with disabilities to build independence and contribute to their communities."
