Dentons appoints Banking and Finance partner Ali Moiz Ansari in Riyadh

October 13, 2025

London/Riyadh -Dentons, the world's largest global law firm, has announced the appointment of Banking and Finance lawyer Ali Moiz Ansari as a partner in Riyadh.

Ali has particular experience in energy and infrastructure projects, project finance, Islamic finance, corporate finance, privatisations and public-private partnerships. He joined the Firm on 12 October.

Since moving to Riyadh in 2018, he has developed strong personal relationships with key clients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the wider GCC region, as well as a strong understanding of the Saudi legal system.

Ali has regularly acted for Saudi, regional and international banks that lend to KSA entities and projects, and has worked extensively with the Saudi government, government-owned entities, KSA's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and several portfolio companies of PIF.

Ali's appointment is a decisive move by Dentons to provide KSA-based clients with locally-based banking and finance support, complementing the practice's strong network across the region. His arrival enables Dentons to provide a dedicated banking and finance presence on the ground in Riyadh.

Paul Jarvis, CEO of Dentons UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) said: "Ali's appointment aligns with the strategic objectives of the Middle East Banking and Finance practice group and to a key investment area of our UKIME strategy. Hiring Ali provides an opportunity to reinforce our banking and finance offering in KSA at a time of growing client demand for this type of advice and experience."

Stephen Knight, Head of the Middle East Banking and Finance practice, said: "We are delighted to welcome Ali to our Middle East Banking and Finance team. It is a pleasure to have someone of Ali's calibre join us and his energetic approach to client work will further strengthen our commitment to being client-centric. Ali is the third partner to join our Banking and Finance team in the Middle East this year and we look forward to making further announcements of additions to our partner and counsel team across the region in the near future."

Ali's appointment to the Middle East Banking and Finance team follows the relocation of Debt Capital Markets partner Victoria Wyer who joined the Dubai office from London in September and the appointment of Ahmed Butt, who also joined the Dubai office in January as a partner in the Banking and Finance team.
