Work along the State Route (SR) 316 corridor on Bundle 1 - including SR 316 at Bethlehem Road and Barber Creek Road - continues to move forward, with crews making steady progress on roadway, bridge, and interchange improvements throughout the project area.

At the Bethlehem Road Interchange, crews recently completed the bridge approach slabs, the concrete sections that connect the bridge to the roadway, marking another important milestone toward opening the new structure to traffic. Crews have also completed inside shoulder widening along SR 316 in this area, while ramp construction activities continue throughout the interchange.

Construction activities also remain active near the Barber Creek Road Interchange. Crews are continuing work on bridge sidewalks and the raised median areas, while curb and gutter installation progresses throughout the corridor. Paving operations along Craft Frontage Road have continued further east as roadway improvements advance.
Additional roadway improvements have also been completed near Doc McLocklin Road, where crews recently completed a roadway tie-in connecting the new construction to the existing roadway network. Utility relocation work near Barber Creek Road has also been completed, helping clear the way for continued roadway and interchange construction.

Along SR 316, inside shoulder widening activities have been completed in several locations, and temporary barrier walls remain in place to help safely separate traffic from active construction areas. Outside shoulder widening has begun on SR 316 westbound with crews removing the existing shoulder, grading, and placing new Graded Aggregate Base (GAB).
Erosion control and maintenance activities continue throughout the corridor. Crews are maintaining silt fencing, construction exits, orange barrier fencing, and temporary mulch to protect nearby waterways and keep work areas orderly and safe. Traffic control measures remain in place to guide drivers safely through the active work zones.

Ramp construction and roadway preparation activities will remain active near the Bethlehem Road Interchange as crews continue preparing areas for future paving and final roadway tie-ins.
At the Barber Creek Road Interchange, crews will continue work on sidewalks, raised medians, curb and gutter installation, and additional roadway features as construction progresses toward the final stages of the interchange improvements. Concrete ramp construction is slated to begin in the coming weeks.
Along SR 316, crews will continue coordinating traffic control measures and maintaining temporary barrier walls while work progresses safely alongside active traffic.

Summer Construction Season: Staying Safe on SR 316
As summer construction activity continues along SR 316, crews are working throughout the day to advance roadway, bridge, drainage, and interchange improvements across the corridor. With warmer temperatures and active work zones throughout the project area, staying alert and driving carefully helps protect both drivers and construction personnel.
|
|
|
Summer Safety Tips for SR 316:
-
Watch for Workers and Equipment: Construction crews and heavy equipment may be working close to active travel lanes. Stay alert for workers, trucks, and changing traffic patterns throughout the corridor.
-
Slow Down in Work Zones: Reduced speeds give drivers more time to react to lane shifts, equipment movements, and other changing conditions within active construction areas.
-
Be Patient During Delays: Summer construction activities may occasionally require temporary lane closures or slow-moving equipment near the roadway. Allow extra travel time when possible.
-
Stay Focused Behind the Wheel: Avoid distractions while traveling through work zones. Paying close attention to signs, barriers, and traffic control devices helps keep everyone safe.

|
|
Behind every work zone, dedicated crews are helping advance improvements that will support safer and more efficient travel along SR 316. Your patience, attentiveness, and safe driving help protect everyone traveling and working along the corridor.
