Grover Beach Accepting Applications for Citizen Oversight Committee's

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR CITIZEN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE FOR TRANSACTION & USE TAX MEASURES CITIZEN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE FOR REVENUE MEASURE K-14

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Grover Beach encourages residents to apply to serve on City Commissions and Committees. On September 8th, 2025 the Grover Beach City Council adopted Resolution No. 25-31 which created two Citizen Oversight Committees. One for the Transaction and Use Tax Measures and one for the Revenue Measure K-14. The City recruits for applicants by publishing Notices of Vacancies in the local newspapers, posting the notice on the City's bulletin board outside of City Hall, on the City's website, and Government Cable Access Channel 20.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the City is seeking residents interested in serving on the following advisory bodies:

  • CITIZEN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE FOR TRANSACTION & USE TAX MEAURES: Five (5) seats are open with the expiration of Committee terms in 2029. Terms on the Committee are four-year periods, with no term limits. The Committee is a body of five (5) residents that meet on an annual basis, usually during the 3rd week of January, with special meetings as needed. The Committee is an advisory board to the City Council that reviews the annual report and provides a report on expenditure of revenues generated from Transaction and Use Taxes to the City Council.   • CITIZEN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE FOR REVENUE MEASURE K-14: Three (3) seats are open with the expiration of Committee terms in 2029. Terms on the Committee are four-year periods, with no term limits. The Committee is a body of three (3) residents that meet on an annual basis, usually during the 3rd week of January, with special meetings as needed. The Committee is an advisory board to the City Council that does an annual review of all Measure K-14 Bond proceeds and expenditures and an annual report to the City Council regarding their findings as to those expenditures. Interviews will be held during the City Council Meeting on December 8, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. Applicants must be in attendance for the interviews to be considered for appointment. Applicants must be registered voters of the City of Grover Beach.
