Worcester Drought Status Declaration Level-3 Critical Drought

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA), Drought Management Task Force declared a Level-3 Critical Drought for the Central Region of Massachusetts. Based on the declaration by the Secretary of the EEA, the appropriate water use restrictions will be in effect as described below.

Level-3 Critical Drought Water Restrictions Applicable to All Water Users

  • All non-essential outdoor water uses banned

Level 3-Critical Drought Water Restrictions - Golf Course Operation

  • Irrigation of fairways shall be reduced to 40% of normal, and there shall be no irrigation of roughs, landscaping, or ornaments

More information on the 2026 Level 3-Critical Drought will be posted on the municipal website at http://www.worcesterma.gov/dpw/drought . Inquiries about drought-level water restrictions should be sent to Worcester 311 at www.worcesterma.gov/311 .
